Lars Mikkelsen3-765x1024At 27 years old He enrolled in the National Theatre School of Denmark. He graduated in 1994. Apart from his role in the drama series released worldwide as The Killing, he subsequently appeared in two other critically highly acclaimed Danish dramas: Those Who Kill and Borgen III. He also had a prominent role in the BBC drama Sherlock in which he played blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen. He was Russia's president on the American TV show House of Cards. In 2018, he took home an International Emmy Award for his role as the president of Russia in the Danish television drama Herrens Veje. It was broadcast in the UK in the year 2019. He claims that he and his brother first started learning English through listening to Monty Python records and learning the sketches of comedy.
